God, Krishna, Buddha and Allah all are kind to the animals of the world. Sin and sorrow originate in the humans of the earth. The Ruler, Creator and Keeper of the overlying universal mystery did not put anything bad into the plan of the earth, yet from somewhere, someone, some power, there comes psychological and tangible badness, bad stuff happening in the minds and societies of the people of the earth. If everyone was self reliant, yielded what was needed, the earth is there to provide. Live with the earth and there is no waste, there is nothing more and there is nothing less than what is already there. I love the commodities and ease of everyday life, but if people worked together that ease could come without huge costs to the environment and huge costs to businesses. What if when I bought a six-pack, I pay a deposit or bring another six-pack back, then those bottles would be returned on the truck that brought the full bottles in. Cutting down on the energy needed to move, melt down and reform glass would save money and the environment. I love beer and the environment, so I am circumventing the system, I am changing my habits and maybe you will too. Often I go camping or climbing for the weekend and chug down about two cases between me and two friends. I am vowing from now on to bring a pony keg with me. Kegs are a great step in reducing waste; microbrews as well as domestics pour great and save you money! My dad’s boss, owner of a wild game meat packing company in Helena, MT, sounds just like Larry the Cable Guy and has Coors Light pouring strong and cold, 24/7. What does a young hippy have in common with a real redneck? Keg Beer. He might have less zeal for saving the planet but he’s helping his finances and the earth while enjoying a refreshing beer out of a frosty cup. If you are not the kind of drinker to sport a kegerator opt for draft beer instead of bottles when dining out. Ben Franklin said, “Beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to prosper.” And Ben Franklin drank out of kegs!
